MY SUPERPOWER is a fast paced comic kids musical theatre production that features  performers, puppets, animations, songs and heaps of laughs.

Written by Dave Houston and Sarah Campbell Lambert.

Directed by Dave Houston.

The show follows the story of a nervous young frog called Ginger and her cohort of fellow dancing, singing friends. Along the way Ginger faces her fears, traverses stinky slimy swamps with the mud pools of death, befriends scary spiders, and connects deeply with her wise Great Aunt. The play touches on the aches and pains of old age, the struggles of parenting, the fear of ‘the other’ and the trust that recovery is possible. After her ‘hero’s journey’ Ginger the Frog eventually discovers she does have a super power and that she can give to her community.

MY SUPER POWER is a high quality production of children’s theatre that features surf-rock, hip-hop, dub reggae, folk and a 70’s disco track. The theatre show is an uplifting creative response to the 2019 bushfires and COVID-19, particularly in the bushfire-affected communities on the Far South Coast of NSW.

Along with the play is a community wellbeing program including kids creative art workshops, a pop up art exhibition, drumming ensembles, hip-hop artists and a Kid’s Wellbeing Expo.
