From the ashes, a beginning.

The Cobargo Wellness Group was founded in early 2020 by Cobargo local Sarah Campbell Lambert in response to the Black Summer bushfire crisis that heavily impacted Cobargo and NSW. The Cobargo Wellness Group (CWG) is a non-profit organisation that supports individuals and communities to thrive after crisis and beyond. We surveyed our community and evaluated the outcomes which enabled us to provide the mental and emotional support wanted and needed to renew communities on the individual level and collectively.

The Ginger the Frog Theatre Show and Digital Wellbeing program is one of the major projects of the Cobargo Wellness Group in 2020 and beyond.

Our research from experts around the world in trauma recovery and our own evaluations from over 1000 of our community has informed us that our programs will benefit any one or any community that has suffered from trauma. For more information about our work and other projects please go to

The Ginger the Frog Story

The story of Ginger the Frog began when Sarah’s now adult children were little, and she created stories to support them in their daily life. The original story “Be Brave” was about Ginger summoning the courage to go to the other side of the pond to meet new frogs. This story was written to encourage Lucy, Sarah’s eldest, to go to her first day of school with courage and the confidence to meet new people and have a fun day. Many other stories followed. Soon children who visited Sarah’s home would ask to hear the stories of Ginger and some parents asked, ‘when are you going to put this in a book?’ Almost two decades later, Richard, Sarah’s husband said ‘Sarah, these stories are really important to share and more relevant now than ever’, and so Sarah began the journey of introducing Ginger to the world with the vision of supporting children’s emotional wellbeing and their carers.
